One Day Yoga & Mindfulness Retreat

Sample Schedule:

 

Meet at the studio at 10:30 for an energizing vinyasa practice, setting the mind and body up for a unique experience.

​

13:00 Break for a wholesome vegetarian organic lunch.

​

14:30 Choose from one of the following activities:

- Introduction to meditation: â€‹Learn to meditate following simple mindfulness principles. You don't have to stop thinking, be able to sit in lotus or stand on your leg. If you can breathe, you can meditate! 

Practice mindfulness with horses: â€‹horses live in the moment, they communicate without talking and help us understand how to develop assertive body language, by reacting to how we stand and move. This workshop doesn't involve riding, but moving with horses on the ground. It is suitable for complete beginners and all level of fitness

- Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage: experience complete relaxation as qualified massage therapist Muireann use forearms and hands in a dynamic flowing rhythm all around the body, to increase mana (power) and release blockages.

16:30 Complete the day, with a  hatha yoga practice and meditation practice.

One day to practice mindfulness and discover the west side of Valentia Island.

 

Meeting at Cracow park at 12:30 for an outdoor energizing vinyasa practice, setting the mind and body up for a unique experience.

… Short walk through Knightstown for a wholesome vegetarian organic lunch, before…

 

… Setting off for a 10km walk through Glanleam subtropical forest gardens. This time of year and after the "heatwave", nature is exhuberant of colours and smells.

Learn mindfulness principles as we stroll through the trees and various features of the 18th century Knight of Kerry’s gardens.

​

...Following on our way west,  up the hills to Fitzgerald cross, we will stop at the (appropriately named) Meditation rocks, for a guided Loving Kindness meditation practice.

​

… To complete the day, we will gather into a sun salutation circle, stretching the legs after the day’s walk and releasing to the elements the positive energy raised through the day.

Practical information

​

  • Everyone welcome from 12 year old up. 

  • Basic level of fitness required as we will walk 5km through various terrain during the day.

  • Yoga practice suitable for beginners.

  • Wear hiking shoes, comfy pants (no jeans or belts) suitable for walking and yoga practice, bring a light wind & rainproof jacket and a bottle of water.

  • Yoga mats available or bring your own if you prefer.​

Acroyoga weekend with Fiona Ashley

Friday 15th - Sunday 17th February 2019

A weekend of Yoga, Acroyoga, massage, fun and games.


Includes fullboard accommodation, led yoga and acroyoga classes, and open training times.

When training with Fiona, we learn it all:

  • Basing: being strong, balanced and reliable for our partner to take flight, basing is a weight-lifting workout, so much more fun than lifting iron at the gym!

  • Flying: Making yourself light, holding your shape, retraining your brain to direct your body when inverted or revolving, trusting your partners won't let you down and, yes, FLYING!!!

  • Spotting: essential to  ensure the flyer is safe, when spotting you also get a sense of how you can base or fly the poses yourself.

​

For this new gathering of acroyogis, we get the full use of Horizon view B&B. Ensuite accommodation overlooking the Valentia harbour bay, breathtaking views of the lighthouse, and a short walk from Glanleam beach or the village of Knightstown (find out more about Valentia Island here) . 
Acroyoga practice will be in the lounge - a large wooden floor room boasting open fire and stove on each side. 

Practical information

​

  • Not suitable for complete beginners.

  • All rooms ensuite.

  • All meals included from Friday dinner till Sunday lunch. Food will be organic, vegetarian, wholesome and delicious!

    • Let us know if any special requirements (Vegan, GF, allergies, etc)

    • To keep costs down, all participants will be asked to do a small job over the weekend, eg wash dishes, clear up breakfast, chop veggies.. the tasks wont interfere with the yoga programme!

  • Booking essential - €50 non-refundable deposit to be paid online here

    • by 20th January to avail of early bird discount,

    • final bookings taken by 7th February.
